Rooftops

He splintered most of the bottles but some still stood still.

He looked agaitated and concentrated and took a shot blowing the neck of the bottle off.

He grunted and took another shot splintering the rest of the bottle. He took a deep breath and felt bored.

He lowered his rifle and climbed down the drainpipe.

*Alya.* he thought to himself and a tear ran down his cheek.

*I'll be home soon.* he took a deep breath and headed home.

[Alya pulled herself up over the edge of the roof and walked to the edge and stood watching the city for a while then slipped off her jacket and walked to the middle of the roof she stated doing some light stretches then progressed into a heavier work out after a while she felt really loose so stopped and closed her eyes taking ten deep breaths she launched herself into a series of flips and kicks across the rooftop she flipped so close to the edge at one point she had to flip herself backwards off her hands so she didnt go crashing into the street below. She pictured her opponent and started up a mock fight. Alya began kicking punching and flipping her way back and forth on the rooftop fighting an opponent she could never seem to catch up to.]

[In her mind Alya finally had her foe at a disadvantage and she threw herself into a series of flips across the roof her eyes closed to concentrate on the scene in her minds eye. Out of nowhere her opponent was replaced by an image of Zahira in the club yesterday and she fumbled her flip twisting her wrist and landing hard on her side her arm folded at an awkward angle below her]

"Owwwwwwwww!" [she howled and sat up holding her arm which when she looked at it seemed to physically throb in front of her arms se could see it swelling in front of her eyes and within minutes it had doubled in size and turned black and blue]

"Great thats all I need!" [she closed her eyes and tears began to fall from her face the pain in her arm reached fever pitch and she began to sobb openly. Finally the tears stopped and Alya opened her eyes and looked down at her arm it was beginning to glow and she watched as it healed itself in front of her eyes. She was concentrating on her arm so much she didnt hear the woman that stepped up beside her until she spoke]

"I can see that you have learned fast my child!" [Alya looked up in surprise at the woman standing beside her it was like looking in a mirror. Alya jumped to her feet and used her good hand to draw her dagger. The woman laughed]

"Alya my sweet child surely you know who I am? You do not need your weapons" [Alya relaxed slightly at the womans kind tone but kept ahold of the dagger]

"How do I know this isn't some trick of my enemies?" [The woman gazed at her not bothering to answer her and Alya nodded and slid the weapon back into its sheath]

"You are my mother" [Alya said it as a statement rather than a question after all it was obvious the two women were the same right down to the tri coloured irises of their eyes. THe woman smiled and gestured to Alya wrist]

"What happened?" [Alya knew she should really be surprised to be talking to her mother who had been dead for years but lately nothing surprised the young fairy]

"I fell!" [Alya answered simply and honestly but mentioned nothing of the image of her sister. The woman nodded again and turned and walked away to the edge of the rooftop looking over the city. Alya watched her burning with curiosity but stayed where she was. The woman still facing the city began to speak]

"I assume you know of the war that is about to break out within in this city?!" [Alya nodded then realising the woman wouldn't be able to see her annswered out loud]

"What do you mean about? It has already begun!" [Alya stepped up beside the woman and sighed surveying the city. Alya's mother eyed her]

"Your heart is heavy daughter! The battles you have endured have taken their toll on you but they will continue! You must stay strong" [Alya continued to stare out at the city]

"I do not know how much longer I can continue to fight. Apart from Lee I am alone Zahira........." [The woman looked at her harshly]

"I know of the fight between you and your sister Alya. You must not judge her child she is lost in a new and frightening world." [Alya shrugged]

"I do not intend to judge her, but if she comes for me or Lee I will kill her!" [The woman smiled]

"Ahhhh so you do have some of your father in you that small flash of stubborness so like him, You do not have it in you to kill your own flesh and blood Alya although I cannot say the same for Zahira. The girl has a wicked temper just like your father! You must be careful if you are to both survive this war." [The woman turned and touched Alya's face]

"You have a great many battles to fight Alya before you will be left in peace Your sisters place is at your side together you would be unstoppable together however I think it may be to late for Zahira she is so full of anger and hatred." [Alya looked into her mothers eyes and tears glistened in her eyes]

"I couldn't do anythingelse. I didn't want to choose between them but......." [The woman smiled and stroked her face again wiping away the tears]

"I know child I know but what is done is done, You have to be strong now there are a great many more trials for you to face before you can be left in peace" [Alyas mother began to walk away across the rooftop]

"Your powers are developing quickly Alya but you must be careful that you control them and not the other way around!" [Alya stayed looking out at the glittering lights of the city]

"We loved you both dearly Alya but mine and your fathers lives were in grave danger when you arrived there was nothing we could do but leave you with the Social worker where we thought you would be safe, we never dreamed they would separate you and you would have to endure what you both have in your short lives. You father adored Zahira she was so like him both in looks and temperament. I almost felt left out at times they shared a special bond but you, you my beautiful daughter you were mine. [she walked back over and brushed Alyas hair from her face looking into her eyes she smiled before walking away] You were your mothers daughter through and through. It broke my heart to give you both away but I had to keep you safe I loved you both so much!." [Alya started to turn to tell her mother how she wished she had known her when she had been alive but when she turned the woman had vanished. Alya closedher eyes again and a single tear ran down her face]

"I love you mother!" [she called out before turning back to face the city, she could see the inhabitants scurrying around the streets like ants and she frowned. Looking over the skyline she could see the castle that Drake was said to inhabit he should be the one worrying about his people not her but she didnt know if he was even aware of what kind of threat was facing his beloved city. She looked down there were so many people living here so many people she felt obligated to protect but at the minute she didnt feel as if she could protect herself never mind anyone else]

[After a while Alya picked up her jacket and put it back on her wrist was almost completely healed now although it still ached. She went back to the edge of the rooftop and sat down with her legs over the edge. She sighed and pulled one of her daggers out of its sheath twirling it around her fingers. She thought seriously about what her mother had said]

*Mother's wrong if she comes for me or Lee I will kill her!* [She yelled as loud as she could her voice carrying across the city]

"YOU HEAR ME ZAHIRA I WILL KILL YOU IF YOU HURT ME!!!!!" [she drew her knee up and laid her head on it watching the life of the city pass below her feet]

*Dammit I must have fallen asleep!* [she stretched and looked around her frowning]

*Have I been here all night?!* [she looked out over the city and smiled sadly, For the first few minutes of her being awake it had been easy to forget what was happening within the city she had grown to know and love. She pulled her jacket around her and headed down off the rooftop]

[abdiel]

[Abdiel swooped and took a perch like a bird on top of some rooftops,] "This place is not what you described it to be my Lord?"
[She took refrence to her most loved Lord, God. But now, she was under the other Lord, the Lord of darkness, sent by him to do his bidding. She had betrayed her love, he Lord, and now she was bound by HIM, she never called him by his name, she always reffered to the Dark Lord as HIM.]

"Where are you? I'm comming for you, I will find you.. And when I do... You will regret ever running away from me!"

[She flew off into the distance looking for HIM and the one he told her to kill. Has she lew off a red glow appeared on the rooftop.]

"You will find me, and the one you seek!"

[The unknown entitie vanished]

Alya stepped onto the rooftop and fell exhausted she knew she had to get up she had to warn her friends and it was no longer safe for her to be out in the open alone. She lay and rolled over onto her back holding her arm with her 'good' hand the pain as the good and evil raged inside her skin was unbelievable. She was exhausted both physically and mentally she needed to get to the relative safety of her home but at the moment was in too much pain to stand

The fierceness of the pain caused Alya to lose conciousness and her head fell to one side as she lay out cold on the rooftop as Stalkers dark army filtered through the city. Out cold she knew nothing of this however. Before long a female figure appeared beside the young fairy and lifted her carefully but easily into her arms. The figure with Alya in her arms was surrounded by a green glow much like Alya's gold one and this pulsed brightly then both Alya and the woman vanished.

[Shadow Chain]

Chain valted over the roof anding softly onto the gravel of the roof. he stood and turned to face his pursuer, she lande on the rof her wings folding i an instant. she raised she raised her glaives and threw them feircely at him. he twisted and turned dodging the flying glaives with ease. He ran towars her, she drew a katana and baced to a defencive stance, the sword cut right hrough his guts spraying bood everywhere, ignoring this he griped her throat with his left hand whilst drawing his rght hand back. He ripped through her eyes with his talons letting her fall to the ground screaming. Drawing a katana himself he plunged it through her back snapping the spineal colum in two. Her screams intensified, blood soaking the ground. Chain reached for her katana still lodged in his guts, pulling it out he brought it down through her neck endng he screams. Once again he bent down to absorb the soul and left the twitching corpse on the roof as e jumped over the side.

[abdiel]

[Abdiel flew across the rooftops where she had sat a few hours ago]

*I liked that spot, it was peacefull!*

[She flew passed it and flew away]

[abdiel]

[Abdiel lowerd her feminine body lower towards the rooftops]

"Now..? What shall I do about the Zahira and Alya situation? Who will he kill first? Maybe Tifa will come out of hiding? Then she shall die! She shall be the first!"

[Abdiel stood standing an inch away from the edge of the rooftops, her huge angelic wings wrapped around her as if a giant was hugging her. She did this when she was remembering her true master, God, she had sworn on an oath that she would never betray him, and she wouldn't of, it was the Master. He was to blame for turning her to HIS side, he had killed her inside, she thought that alot to herself. She stood on the rooftops, hoping that someone, just someone would come to her, and befriend her.]

Alya looked carefully over the edge of the rooftop before pullling herself up. Standing she stretched and looked around she noticed a figure at the end of the rooftop and frowned she hadn't rally gotten off to a good start with Abdiel and she wasn't one to make snap judgements so she decided to try again

"Hi!"

[abdiel]

[Abdiel's wings opened slowly, she flew up into the air and twirled, she laded facing Alya.]

"Come to kill me have you?" [She lowered her head at Alya as a sign of respect]

Alya laughed and shook her head leaning against what must have once been a chimney stack she crossed her arms

"Now what makes you think I would want to do something like that?

[abdiel]

[Abdiel walked around Alya in a circle.]

"I know about the death of Willow and the one who killed her..." [She said calmly and slyly. Though she didn't mean any harm]
