"Oh, come on..." pleaded Skawn. "I asked the guy if he was any good... I had no control of what snowballed from it." Skawn stepped backwards, allowing Cypher's fist to sink through the shadows of his coat. "And anyway, you're not the only one who had a bad night." Skawn leant towards Cypher. His face inches away from his friend's. "I had one chance. One chance to get revenge. One chance to go home. One chance to be liked. And I blew it." Skawn took a few steps backwards, and turned to face the city below him. A tear creapt down his cheek, hoping to go unnoticed. "Do you know how that feels?"

The young man's thin purple eyesbrows drew together at the reply of Skawn. "Because you couldn't control it." He replied harshly. "You might think you can't be held responsible for what 'snowballed' out of it, but you can be held responsible for what spouts out of your mouth." He continued, folding his arms across his chest.
"The next time you feel inclined to say something you will regret, bite your tongue and save yourself some humiliation."

Skawn glared at Cypher, and wiped away the tear from his eye. He gritted his teeth. "I'll say whatever I damn please. I can see how you would think I'm responsible, Cypher. I don't agree with you, but I can see your point. And that's our main difference. You couldn't see two sides if your eyes were in your ears." Skawn began to walk to the opposite edge of the rooftop, and turned his head to keep talking. "You probably think I came here to try and get you to forgive me. Well you're wrong. I came here to see if you were capable of even understanding anything other than your own thoughts. But you're not." Skawn stopped at the oppostie edge, and turned around completely to stare at his friend.

Cypher twisted his head to the side, his eyes narrowed and his eyebrows drawn towards the bridge of his nose in a deathy glare, as if he were trying to get the shadow to leave. "Do you always have to make things difficult for yourself and all other parties involved?" He asked, his voice awash with apathy. "Why would I even tell you of what I had to suffer?" He spat maliciously, turning his head back to stare at a particular building that had caught his eye.

"Suffer? I'll give you suffer. I've lived in this realm for fifty years. I've made three friends. Two of those friends will one day die, and one of those two is you." Skawn threw off his coat, and revealed a sword in his hand, a small blade with a black pattern snaking up the side.
"Don't worry, It's not a fighting sword." He held it by the blade, and began to wave the handle around, which left a black imprint on the air it passed through, with which he drew illustrations to the story he told.
"I was born simple. But I raised through the ranks, to make me what I am today. But when I tried to do the right thing, I got thrown out of the only real home I ever had. I came here, and it was when I began to make friends. I realised it wasn't my home I was missing, it was friends. That scared me, that's why I ran away that night with Lucio. I thought I might become a mortal if I carried on this way. But I realised, it's not mortal to be accepted. It's not mortal to be defended. So maybe I did drag you into it, but that's a risk you took when you became my friend."

[he shook his head]
"it doesn't matter, theres not much i can do about it. when certain people arrived in town, either unaware of who or what they where, i felt that my plans could be fulfilled. but with the rate everyone powers are growing, it throws everything to the wind."

The young man ruffled his black wings and ignored the illustrations the Radiant drew, refusing to look at the shadow. "Then I should be more careful when it comes to trusting people in the future." He answered spitefully.
