In the blink of an eye, Cypher suddenly flashed into physical being. He quickly glanced over his surroundings, locks of soft purple hair flew about his face, yet his hat remained perfectly still on his head, fixed in place from the last time he had moved it.
The young man stood on the slanted tile roof of an old church, possibly Catholic, he thought. This was not the usual church he was used to visiting, however. This magnificent work of architecture humbled the diminutive little house of worship he was so accustomed to. The roof stretched on a great deal, and lay at all levels, be it higher or lower than the current section he stood on. Each and every fragment of the roof was pinched in the center, so that every part drew into the shallow point that lay at the center of each and every sub-section. And the mighty and tall spire stretched out to the heavens beside him, a wondrous cross decorated the very tip of the structure. The building was truly a sight to behold.
The daemon picked up the back of his coat as he cautiously sat himself down on the roof in fear of knocking any of the seemingly ancient tiles from their fixed place to their doom below, he laid out his coat behind him so that the leather was fanned out across the slope behind him, which the wind caught and rippled asunder, the heavy material thrashed around before it settled calmly.
Cypher cast his eyes over towards the small village of Chimera, more specifically on the converted house of God that was once the home of Blackthorne. He was no longer here, he could tell, but his security system, however, was. He was sure to inspect the machinery in question the first time he had visited, he was always happy to know what he would be up against in the future, and this was certainly no exception.
[glow=white,500]"Falling into old habits, are we?"[/glow] A familiar voice chimed, every single noise that rolled off of that tongue was coated in thick malice. But Cypher remained focused on the grand building, his legs drawn up to rest his arms across.
He was there. Right next to him, too. Sitting beside him, but facing the opposite direction. Neither could see the other's face, just the material of the other's jacket that lay beside them. One a dull black, the other an immaculate pure white that almost glowed in the moonlight, and in Cypher's case, a long rope of flaxen hair, held in place at the bottom by a large metal cross.
[glow=white,500]"And you were doing so well."[/glow] A feline smile spread across the blond's pale face, [glow=white,500]"Why must you bring ruin to anywhere to run to? I thought you would have learned by now."[/glow] The figure continued to pick at the other man, yet Cypher remained silent. The figure smiled, golden eyes looked up to the moon as an awkward silence set in.
"I still haven't forgiven you for killing him." The words that come from the halfling's mouth sparked some kind of curiosity in the blond's mind.
[glow=white,500]"You have no right to."[/glow] He replied [glow=white,500]"Because I told you I would."[/glow] Cypher lifted his head up as he waited for the enigmatic being to speak.
[glow=white,500]"I told you, the first time we encountered one another, that I would kill anyone that was in league with the likes of you at those given times."[/glow] Feline eyes narrowed in sadistic glee as he spoke, for he knew that this offended the dark-haired daemon, who had returned to being silent once more.
[glow=white,500]"I simply came to inform you that my time surveying you is drawing to an end. And that I won't be interfering with your current escapade, as the information you retrieve may be of some use to us, as much as I do not want to admit it."[/glow] The white-coated figure stood up from his seat and turned to face the back of Cypher. He bent down so that he was level with him, a cat-like grin swept across his face as he placed a gloved hand on his shoulder.
[glow=white,500]"But don't forget to watch your back, because I might just try to stab it when you least expect it."[/glow] A malevolent chuckle sounded in the thief's ear as he was left on his own, with only a flurry of pure white feathers to keep him company.
