A silent nod was the Halfling's only answer to the Vampire's question, and as he replied, he gradually made his way to the door, pulling it open with a sharp tug as he waited for the night walker to step out into the approaching night.

he walked off at a normal pace for himself, very fast for a mortal and delighted in the night air. "how about a wander, there must be some kind of green place about here." Without even waiting he walked on, following his mind and instincts.

His eyes rounded the interior of the small house before the thief slid through the door, closing it behind him with a weighted shove to keep the lock still. He turned his head up from the handle, only to find that the Vampire has now wandering quickly down the street.
He released the door handle, and with a slow start, he made his own way down the street, following after the Vampire.

He opened the door with a loud creak and walked in silently, a faint scrabbling of mice quietened at they heard the footsteps on the ancient wood of the floor. The vampire walked straight in and placed himself carefully on the armchair again, making sure he didn't raise a whole cloud of dust as he did so.

With a click from the semi-broken lock, Cypher gently closed the door with his palm, his back pressed against the wall as he eased it shut, the once broad streak of moonlight that streamed through thinned, until nothing remained of its former glory.
A soft sigh passed the smooth lips of the Daemon, amethyst eyes glittered in the dark as floorboards creaked underneath ever cautious feet, the Halfling crossing the dust-smothered room to prop himself against his usual wall, in front of the moth eaten arm chair that the Vampire seemed to have grown quite fond of, his arms folded neatly over his thing chest whilst he regarded the nightwalker, head titled curiously to the side as he stood in silence.

He raised his eyes and looked at Cypher, seeing that he also was being examined. It had been a long time since he was under the scrutinising eye of a mortal and he almost laughed at the though.
"Well, it seems my luck has been rather jinxed since I came here, two gunshot wounds in two days... rather unusual. You have a lot of hunters here."

"It seems that way." Answered the Daemon nonchalantly, his head cocked to the opposite side, loose strands of soft deep purple hair flicked over his face. "But I have to confess, they are all new faces to me."

"Hmm, typical when I come all of the hunters arrive too." he laughed gently and thought back to his old castle, almost wishing he was there, then again, this place was interesting to say the least but he didn't have the same time for thought and rest he had once had.

"And all vampire hunters, no less." Added the Daemon, turning his head to the side, his face pointed down to the damp and rotting skirting board that framed the edge of the room, snapped and splintered in more than one place, a once perfect track ruined by age and decay.

"Yes, indeed, I have no clue why they have suddenly appeared, have you, are there a lot of vampires about the place?" He looked about the room running his hand through his long and at the sight of the dishevelment.

"A fair few." Answered the youth cooly. "I suppose a third of this city's inhabitants are vampires, maybe more." The Halfling rolled his head back to the night walker, eyes slid open to glance at him. "I can't be too sure."

"Hmm, I am suprised that thnere are so many mortals left." He said slowly, "Then again, I suppose not all hunt every night..." he leaned back in the chair, returning his gaze to the young halfling before glancing at the window. The light would soon be up and he would need to retire.

"I assume that one gets used to the routine after living here for a while." He reflected. "I suppose it gets easier to avoid being a victim if you know how to defend yourself from them."

"Of course, but it's not the getting used to not eating I find difficult, it is controlling the blood lust." He stopped there, not wanting to go into details with a mortal he had drunk from himself, thinking it bad taste.
"I'm sure people do learn, if they survive to tell others about vampires..."

The Halfling shoved himself away from the wall which he had occupied, and with footsteps silent and unseen in the dark, the Halfling approached the worn and dust covered armchair, settling his hand around the side of the head piece, his fingers curled about the grey and dull furniture.
"I suppose I'll have to take your word for it, then." Said the youth, eyes bright in the obscure shadows as they stalked the reclining night walker, picking out even the finest details in the face of the dark.
